Ingredients
4 ripe mangoes
2-3 tablespoons maple syrup or honey (optional, depending on the sweetness of the mangoes)
1 tablespoon lime or lemon juice
1/4 cup water
Instructions
1. Prepare the Mangoes: Peel the mangoes and cut the flesh away from the pit.Cut the mango flesh into chunks.
2. Blend: Place the mango chunks in a blender or food processor. Add the lime or lemon juice and water.
Blend until smooth. Taste the mixture and add maple syrup or honey if needed, blending again until fully incorporated.
3. Freeze: Pour the blended mixture into an airtight container. Place the container in the freezer for about 4-6 hours, or until the sorbet is firm. For best results, stir the mixture every hour to prevent ice crystals from forming.
4. Serve: When ready to serve, let the sorbet sit at room temperature for a few minutes to soften slightly. Scoop into bowl.
5. Enjoy!
Tips
1. If you have an ice cream maker, you can use it to churn the sorbet mixture before freezing to achieve a smoother texture.
2. For added flavor, you can mix in some finely chopped fresh mint or basil before freezing.
